Sunday

Volcano

I made this cake for my oldest son's 6th birthday. There is a tube inside the volcano to hold the dry ice for the smoky effect, otherwise everything is edible. I used a wide variety of cookies, sprinkles, and dessert toppings to decorate the cake and board. The dinosaurs are made from fondant.

Saturday

pirate birthday cupcakes

I made these cupcakes for my oldest son's 5th birthday. Part of them are chocolate and the others are vanilla. They are iced with a vanilla buttercream and topped with chocolates and a pirate flag.

Pirate Ship

I made this ship for my son's 3rd birthday. It's a homemade funfetti cake with vanilla buttercream icing covered in Satin Ice chocolate fondant. The decorations are fondant or royal icing. Everything is edible except for the wooden mast.

Tuesday

Hungry Monkey

I made this cake for my sister-in-law's baby shower. This was my first attempt at sculpting a large figure from fondant. Everything is edible except the base.

Wednesday

campfire

I made this cake for my husband and son when I thought they were missing their father-son camp-out. I thought I'd give them the next best thing to a real camp fire- a cake that looks like one.

The cake is a chocolate roll with whipped cream filling covered in ganache. The flames are hard candy.
