Owl 1st birthday

I made these cakes for my youngest daughter's 1st birthday. It is all edible, made with yellow cake, buttercream frosting, fondant, and glitter dust. The cake was made to look like her hat. The smaller cake was her smash cake.

Friday

army tank

This cake  was for a young boy's birthday. It's chocolate cake, buttercream icing, and homemade fondant. I painted the camo detailing. The size of the tank is roughly 6x8x4. All edible except the dowel rod used to support the cannon. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the tank is on an incline of even more cake, just to give it a little more interest and not waste the larger scraps from carving.

They also wanted a cake to eat on the actual birthday, so I made a coordinating 6 inch tier.

Monday

Pumpkin

This cake was for my mom's birthday party (her birthday is actually today- Halloween). She loves all things autumn and cute (non-scary) Halloween. As usual, this is all edible- Snickerdoodle cake, milk chocolate ganache and my new favorite homemade fondant.

Saturday

Bass Pro

This cake was for a young boy that loves to go fishing.
Marbled cake with Buttercream icing covered in fondant and lots of pearl dust.

Tuesday

Thor's Hammer

I made this for my husband's birthday. He's a big superhero fan and was excited about this cake. It is all edible with the exception of a few support dowel rods.

Purple Castle

I made this cake for some friends of the family. It's chocolate and vanilla cake with Vanilla Buttercream covered in Marshmallow Fondant. This was a lot of fun to do.

campfire

I made this cake for my husband and son when I thought they were missing their father-son camp-out. I thought I'd give them the next best thing to a real camp fire- a cake that looks like one.

The cake is a chocolate roll with whipped cream filling covered in ganache. The flames are hard candy.

high school and nursing school grads

These cakes were to celebrate 2 different graduations in my family-high school and nursing school. They are fairly simplistic cakes, but were very yummy. Basic chocolate and yellow cakes with vanilla buttercream icing. Covered and decorated in fondant- all edible.

tool box

I made this for my son's second birthday. When my brother arrived at the party and began looking for a place to put his coat, he, for some reason, went as far as my kitchen pantry and set it on top of this cake thinking it was actually a toolbox.
This cake was inspired by Reese cups -peanut butter cake and filling, with a milk chocolate ganache. The actual box and tools are rice crispies covered in fondant.

Women at the Well

I made this fabulously delicious cake for a church activity themed "Women at the Well." The flavors were "coconut pecan joy" -coconut cake, coconut pecan filling (like in german chocolate cake), covered in ganache- and "death by chocolate" -devils food chocolate cake with chocolate chips, filled with milk chocolate ganache with sliced strawberries, covered in ganache, and decorated with marshmallow fondant (MMF). The pitcher is edible too!
